Not currently.  cPanel does not use package management, so it is very difficult to install third party software with cPanel.  It will overwrite important libraries and modules, and there is no way to detect this.  You can have a working product one second, and not working the next after a cPanel install or upgrade.  We are looking into how we could support cPanel, one simply way would be for cPanel to use package management like everyone else does.

We have reports from customers that it will.  This is provided that cPanel does not remove or replace components that ASL uses, such as mysql and other support libraries.  We have customers running cPanel and ASL, however we do not currently support cPanel.

Q: Do your mod_security rules work with cPanel?

Absolutely, and we support them too. They are pre-tuned, fast and full supported. No set of rules is more complete, pre-tuned, will protect your system better and faster than ours. If you care about security, then you want to use our mod_security rules.

Q: Does Cpanel support the gotroot rules?

Cpanel does not officially, but we do! If you use the gotroot rules with Cpanel we fully support them.

Q: Does Cpanel support the atomicorp.com rules?

Cpanel does not officially, but we do! If you use the atomicorp.com rules with Cpanel we fully support them.

Q: Do you support ASL with cPanel?

Not currently. cPanel does not use package management, so it is very difficult to install third party software with cPanel. It will overwrite important libraries and modules, and there is no way to detect or prevent this. You can have a working product one second, and not working the next after a cPanel install or upgrade. cPanel also does not properly report what it has installed, so there is also no way to know what the system is missing. We are looking into how we could support cPanel, one simple way would be for cPanel to use package management like everyone else does.

Q: Will ASL work with cPanel?

We have reports from customers that it will. This is provided that cPanel does not remove or replace components that ASL uses, such as mysql and other support libraries. We have customers running cPanel and ASL, however we do not currently support cPanel.
