Not currently. cPanel does not use package management, so it is very difficult to install third party software with cPanel.  Cpanel will overwrite important libraries and modules, and there is no way to detect or prevent this.  You can have a working product one second, and then it won't be working the next after a cPanel install or upgrade.  cPanel also does not properly report what it has installed, so there is also no way to know what the system is missing or may already have installed.  We are looking into how we could support cPanel, one simple way would be for cPanel to use package management like other vendors do.

Not currently (We recommend you use ASL-Lite with CPanel, which works just fine and is fully supported).

Q: Do your mod_security rules work with cPanel?

Absolutely, and we support them too. They are pre-tuned, fast and full supported. No set of rules is more complete, pre-tuned, or will protect your system better and faster than ours. If you care about security and reliability, then you want to use our mod_security rules.

Q: Will ASL-Lite work with cPanel?

Absolutely. ASL-Lite works with Cpanel and is fully supported.

Q: Will ASL work with cPanel?

We have reports from customers that it will. This is provided that cPanel does not remove or replace components that ASL uses, such as mysql and other support libraries. We have customers running cPanel and ASL, however we do not currently support cPanel with ASL (we do support ASL-Lite with cpanel).

We are working on a version of ASL for cPanel. We recommend you use ASL-Lite with CPanel, which works just fine and is fully supported.

Q: Do you support ASL-Lite with cPanel?

Yes, ASL-Lite is fully supported with cPanel.

Q: Do you support ASL with cPanel?

Not currently (We recommend you use ASL-Lite with CPanel, which works just fine and is fully supported).

This is because cPanel does not use package management, and like most Linux applications ASL does. This makes it very difficult to install third party software with cPanel. Cpanel, because it does not use package management, does not check what is installed and will overwrite important libraries and modules. This is why package management was invented, to prevent these kinds of problems, without it there is no way to detect or prevent this.

You can have a working product one second, and then it won't be working the next after a cPanel install or upgrade. cPanel also does not properly report what it has installed, so there is also no way to know what the system is missing or may already have installed. We are looking into how we could support cPanel, one simple way would be for cPanel to use package management like all Linux vendors do.

At this time, we recommend you use ASL-Lite with CPanel, which works just fine and is fully supported.
